Photon 10Gbps optical transponder functions to 60C

Shenzhen Photon Technology Co. Ltd 's bidirectional optical transponder functions from a 5V or 3.3V supply and is screened for operation over the 0C to 60C temperature range.

It contains a 10Gbps optical transmitter and a 10Gbps optical transceiver into a 101.6-by-88.9-by-15.24mm package and is designed for use in SONET/SDH networks, MANs, and high-speed data communication applications.

The device is available with a 1,550nm EML laser transmitter, PIN receiver, and clock synthesis and clock recovery circuits. The transmitter/receiver also has a 16-channel, 622Mbps mux/demux and exhibits a receiver sensitivity of -14dBm. Minimum side mode suppression ratio is 30dB, while minimum extinction ratio is 8.2dB.
