Vishay inductors saturate to 84A

Vishay Intertechnology Inc. has expanded its Dale IHLP high-current inductor family with the addition of new devices that extend the inductance values from 0.1?H to 10?H and feature saturation currents up to 84A and typical DCR values down to 0.8 milliohms.

The IHLP-5050CE-01 has saturation currents of up to 84A and feature DCR values from 0.8 milliohms to 30.4 milliohms, while the IHLP-2525CZ-01 has a saturation current of 60A and exhibit DCR values from 1.5 milliohms to 102 milliohms. Both operate at frequencies up to 5MHz and feature a profile that is 30 percent lower than in conventional solutions.

Designed for dc/dc converters and energy storage applications, the new inductors are positioned to replace taller, larger, and/or lower-performing inductors, thus enabling more power-efficient PDAs, notebooks and desktop computers, servers, and battery-operated devices.

Power conversion applications for the new devices will include low-voltage, high-performance microprocessors, distributed power systems, high-current point of load converters, and dc/dc converters for FPGAs.

The IHLP-2525CZ-01 measures 6.47-by-6.68-by-3mm, while the IHLP-5050CE-01 measures 12.9-by-13.2-by-3.5mm. The devices are screened for operation over the -55°C to 125°C range and are lead-free.
