HP workstations to integrate NVIDIA graphics solutions

Hewlett Packard Co. (HP) has selected NVIDIA Corp.'s NVIDIA Quadro4 980 XGL and NVIDIA Quadro4 380 XGL AGP 8X graphics solutions to be implemented on its professional workstation line.

According to HP, by making use of the faster AGP 8X data bus, graphics intensive applications are expected to benefit from twice the data throughput and deliver quicker response and shorter design time to HP workstation users.

"Currently, both companies are architecting complementary hardware to take full advantage of AGP 8X bandwidth," said Jeff Fisher, EVP of worldwide sales at NVIDIA. "As a result, HP's workstation customers will see visible benefits in their applications - up to 40 percent performance improvements in OpenGL applications."
