Shielded connector handles 10Gbps transmission

ERNI has introduced the MicroSpeed shielded connector system that features SMT termination for differential- or single-ended high-speed signal transmissions in telecommunications and datacom applications with data rates of up to 10Gbps.

The connector is available with two contact rows and two shield rows. Its contact arrangement is designed in a grid of 1mm pitch within the row and a column pitch of 1.5mm. The differential ports can be arranged horizontal or vertical.

MicroSpeed could be used for applications with differential impedance of 100 ohms or 50 ohms single-ended. Aside from SMT termination, ground contact is also available with THR termination and provides safe strain relief.
