WLAN solutions and technology provider Ralink Technology Inc., has chosen Credence Systems Corp.'s RF IC and mixed-signal test system, the ASL 3000RF test system, for its wideband and wireless communication devices.

According to Ralink, the selection of the system is based on its ability to meet test requirements of next-generation RF ICs for wireless applications, including 802.11 WLAN standards and 3G mobile communications services. The system also incorporates Credence's patented modulated vector network analysis (MVNA) technology.

"As we began scheduling resources and test equipment to begin manufacturing wireless communications devices, we realized that we needed to expand our test platform strategy to include a cost effective solution," said Dr. Dennis C.W. Lo, Ralink's VP of RFIC engineering. "Credence's ASL 3000RF system provides the right combination of RF and digital instrumentation to meet our needs and address the demanding requirements of WLAN applications," he claims.
