Ericsson puts up separate company for dc/dc modules

Following the recent acquisition of Ericsson Microelectronics by Infineon Technologies, the company's dc/dc power modules unit has been established as a separate company called Ericsson Power Modules.

Ericsson Power Modules will continue to design, develop and market dc/dc power modules to OEMs throughout the world. Applications for its products include communications, avionics, computing, military, space, and industrial equipment. Ericsson has been manufacturing dc/dc power modules since 1983 and runs automated manufacturing facilities in Sweden, the U.S. and China.

Commenting on the new company, H?kan ?sterberg, VP and Senior Investment Manager at Ericsson Business Innovation AB said: "Ericsson Power Modules is an autonomous company with short lines of communication, our aim is to provide flexible and responsive service to customers. At the same time, they will benefit from local service through our global sales force and from the reputation for exceptional reliability that our innovative products have long demonstrated."
