Artesyn Technologies has launched what is touted to be the industry's first dual-output non-isolated point-of-load (niPOL) converter for DDR-SDRAM, capable of providing an all-in-one power solution for dual-voltage sink/source requirements of DDR-SDRAM and associated control logic.

Known as the DDR12, the device is capable of delivering 25A at 2.5V for VDDQ supply and 8A at 1.25V for DDR termination voltage. Both voltage outputs are trimmable from 90 percent to 110 percent of their nominal value. It also exhibits an efficiency of 85 percent when operated at half-load or greater.

It has a vertically oriented package that has a footprint of 76.2-by-12.9mm and an above-board height of 30.5mm. DDR12 accepts inputs from 10.8Vdc to 13.2Vdc and provides 8A/?s transient response. It also has overvoltage and overcurrent protection, as well as remote on/off functions and a power food output signal.

The niPOL converter is screened for operation over the 0C to 80C and is priced at $16.75 each in 10,000-piece quantities.
