Ericsson power modules tout high reliability

The PMA family of surface-mountable dc/dc regulators from Ericsson Power Modules AB exhibits an MTBF rating >12 million hours and an efficiency up to 95 percent, and is designed for operation close to the point-of-load in distributed power architectures.

Built on ceramic substrates, the power modules measures 36-by-20-by-8.5mm and weigh 12g. They operate from 3.3Vdc, 5Vdc, or 12Vdc inputs and offer 1.2V to 5V outputs. The 3.3Vin/2.5Vout and 5Vin/3.3Vout versions are rated at 6A to 8A, while the rest reeliver up to 12A. The modules are screened for operation over the -30°C to 85°C temperature range.
