NEC Corp.'s CX2510-MC FTTx access switch features a 1U chassis that contains a built-in media converter and 24 optical fiber ports, and is targeted at telecom carriers that provide VoIP services and broadband Internet access to ISPs via FTTH and WLAN.
Showcased at the ITU Telecom Asia 2002 show, the device accommodates a large number of FTTH access and WLAN service by controlling the spread network locations. It is also capable of maintaining media converters located at various distances and features a security function that restricts the communication between different ports to protect users from illegal access.
The switch also features a priority flow control function that keeps the bandwidth of the uplink lines within the specified allocated range. Four types of QoS classes are also provided to allow the assignments of different priority levels to each flow. |
