Symbian, TI extend wireless partnership

Symbian Inc. and Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) have extended their strategic cooperation to further optimize the performance of the Symbian OS on TI's wireless OMAP platform. This move was made as part of the Symbian Platinum Partner Program.

Today's announcement follows a series of strategic innovations developed by the two companies to enable optimal performance in wireless handsets based on Symbian OS and TI's platform, which comprises processors, software infrastructure, and a comprehensive support network for fast development of differentiated 2.5G and 3G multimedia-enhanced mobile devices and software applications.

New mobile devices and software applications based on the Symbian OS and TI's OMAP platform will include connected systems in a variety of forms that provide data, voice and engaging multimedia experiences anywhere and anytime.
