Symbian, TI extend collaboration

Symbian and Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) have expanded their strategic cooperation to further optimize the performance of Symbian OS on TI's wireless OMAP platform, as part of the Symbian Platinum Partner Program.

The OMAP comprises of processors, a software infrastructure, and a comprehensive support network for the rapid development of differentiated 2.5G and 3G multimedia-enhanced mobile devices and software applications. New mobile devices and software applications based on the Symbian OS and TI's OMAP platform will include connected systems in a variety of forms that provide data, voice and engaging mobile multimedia capabilities at any time.
