TI op amps eye battery-powered apps

Texas Instruments Inc. has added two 1.8V op amps to its Burr-Brown product line that are designed for two-cell battery-powered applications such as sensor amplification, signal conditioning, data acquisition, handheld instrumentation, and portable audio and medical equipment.

The OPA363 and OPA364 feature a maximum offset voltage of 0.5mV and quiescent current of 0.75mA/channel. Rail-to-rail input without crossover between input stages reduces distortion and improves CMRR (100dB) over the entire input range. They also have rail-to-rail output swing within 5mV of the rails, 7MHz bandwidth, and a 5V/?s slew rate.

The OPA363 comes in a SOT23-6 or SO-8 and features a shutdown mode that reduces power consumption to 0.9?A. The OPA364 is available in SOT23-5 and SO-8 packages. Both are screened for operation over the -40C to 125C temperature range.

Dual versions (OPA2363 and OPA2364) are also available, while quad versions (OPA4363 and OPA4364) will be available in Q1 2003.
