Maxim supervisor chip delivers up to 300mA

Maxim Integrated Products' MAX6469-MAX6476 contain a low-drop-out, integrated linear regulator, and microprocessor reset circuits in an SOT23 package. They are available with preset outputs from 1.5V to 3.3V in 100mV increments and can deliver up to 300mA of output current.

Each microprocessor supervisor is offered with reset threshold options set for 5 percent or 10 percent below the regulator output.

Whenever the regulated output voltage falls below the reset threshold or the manual reset is asserted, the device times out for a programmed minimum period (2.5ms, 20ms, 150ms, or 1.2s). All versions are offered with either an active-low, push-pull or an active-low, open-drain reset output.

The MAX6469-MAX6472 also offer an adjustable feature that allows the output voltage to be adjusted from 1.2V to 5.5V with external resistors.

The MAX6471-MAX6474 have a manual reset input, and the MAX6475/MAX6476 has a remote-feedback sense option to function as a regulator controller. Other features include a shutdown mode (MAX6469, MX6470, MAX-6473-MAX6476) that reduces current consumption to <1?A, a thermal-shutdown feature that turns off the internal PMOS switch when the junction temperature exceeds the specified maximum condition and reverse leakage-current protection that prevents battery cell damage.

All devices are available in a small SOT23 or QFN package. Prices start at $1.50.
