Vishay Intertechnology Inc. is offering its RF transistors in a new 3-pin SOT490 package that occupies a footprint of 1.6-by-0.85mm - 40 percent smaller than SOT23 and 60 percent smaller than the SOT323 packages.

The package also features a flat-lead design that increases moisture resistance by eliminating the mechanical handling that can cause cracks or gaps. Shorter lead lengths also reduce package inductance.

The BFQ67F RF transistor will be among the first products to be available in the SOT490 package. The transistor provides broadband amplification at frequencies up to 2GHz with an NF of 1.2dB, transition frequency of 7.5GHz, and a gain of 16dB.
