Fujitsu Microelectronics America Inc. has released the MB15F76UL and MB15F74UL HF dual serial input, PLL synthesizers for wireless LAN - including 802.11a/b - and broadband wireless access designs.

Each device incorporates a low-noise phase comparator; a balanced charge pump; dual-modulus prescalers for the PLLs; and programmable reference, main and swallow counters. The devices are designed to implement local oscillators for the up-and-down conversion sections of wireless transceivers and receivers.

The charge pump delivers an output current of 1.5mA or 6mA, selectable using its own supply pin. In the power-saving mode, the current of each device is reduced to 0.1?A. Each device also allows for lock detection and phase comparator output monitoring.

The MB15F76UL offers 6GHz and 1.5GHz RF/RF prescalers with a typical supply current of 9mA (3V) and a supply voltage of 2.7V to 3.6V. The MB15F74UL provides RF/RF 4GHz and 2GHz, with a supply current of 9mA. The IF and RF sections of the MB15F76UL include a 1/4 divider.

Both PLL synthesizers are housed in a 20-pad BCC package that measures 3.4-by-3.6-by-0.55mm.
