Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Inc. has announced the availability of the DBAu1000, DBAu1500, and DBAu1100 development board kits for its Alchemy Solutions processor family, providing developers with the tools to develop and test their solutions and ramp up the time to market period.

"These board kits enable designers to fully embrace the functionality and industry-leading performance and low power consumption offered by our AMD Alchemy Solutions Au1000, Au1500, and Au1100 processors," claimed Phil Pompa AMD VP of marketing for Personal Connectivity Solutions.

The kits contain the MIPS-based SoCs that offer a clock rate of up to 400MHz, while consuming 250mW, suitable for non-PC Internet appliance applications including automotive navigation/entertainment systems, computing devices such as web tablets and PDAs, home and small office networking and access devices such as gateways, routers and firewalls, and gaming devices.

The kits also include 64MB of SDRAM, 32MB of MirrorBit Flash memory, 10/100 Ethernet interface, USB host/device connectors, RS232 connectors, and hot-swappable PCMCIA slots. They also include a static memory bus interface, LEDs for system activity and software debug, and ETAG connections to the processor.
