LSI Logic Corp. has launched an ADSL modem reference design kit based on the company's HomeBASE chipset, integrated with Intersil's PRISM IEEE 802.11 WLAN chipset. This platform is designed to support ADSL modem manufacturers seeking a jump start in delivering high data rate wireless systems for office, home networking, and consumer markets.

The new reference design kit from LSI requires minimal resources from manufacturers for a complete WLAN ADSL based product. In addition to the hardware, the solution includes schematics, sample bill of materials, and software binaries. The reference design uses the LSI HomeBASE ADSL chipset, a part of the LSI Logic family of xDSL solutions designed for the customer premise equipment (CPE) market.
