EMS Technologies Inc. has received a contract from Alcatel Space to supply ferrite switch technology for the SAR-Lupe imaging satellite mission.

EMS's Space & Technology Group/Atlanta will manufacture and deliver space qualified X-band receiver protection and calibration networks to be integrated into the Sensor Electronics unit for the SAR-Lupe system. The space company OHB-System AG is prime contractor for SAR-Lupe, a constellation of five satellites and the attendant ground segment.

Set for launch in 2005 through 2007, SAR-Lupe will provide the satellite mission with imaging during all weather conditions. Meanwhile, the EMS switching network will route the signals between the satellite's transmitter, antenna and receiver, while providing a reference pathway for instrument calibration during the extended mission life.
