Zygo receives extended contract from national lab

The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has extended its contract with Zygo Corp. on the supply of laser amplifier slabs, mirrors, and polarizers.

These optics will be installed in the National Ignition Facility, a laser system being constructed at the LLNL for the study of nuclear weapons physics and energy production by controlled thermonuclear fusion. The contract extension which is valued at $4 million, will run through February 2004. The work will be performed at Zygo's Optical Manufacturing Center located in Middlefield, Connecticut.
