Texas Instruments Inc. has introduced the SN65HVD251 5V CAN transceiver that is flexible for use with 5V or 3.3V DSPs and microcontrollers with CAN controllers, as well as with standalone CAN controllers.
Designed for operation in noisy industrial environments, the 8-pin device provides differential transmit capability to the bus and differential receive capability to a CAN controller at speeds up to 1Mbps. It also offers 12kV ESD protection and 36V bus-fault protection.
The transceiver also draws a typical standby current of 200?A and has thermal shutdown protection. High input impedance allows up to 120 SN65HVD251 nodes on a single bus. |
