The ADS1202 current shunt modulator from Texas Instruments Inc. features a 16-bit resolution, 80dB dynamic range, and provides current measurements for motor control applications, as well as industrial process control, instrumentation, and smart transmitter.

A member of the company's Burr-Brown product line, the TSSOP-8 device has differential input that are suitable for direct connections to current shunt resistors, transducers, or low-level signals. When used with an appropriate digital filter and modulator rate, the device can be used to achieve 16-bit ADC with no missing codes.

The ADS1202 offers a 250mV input range with a single 5V supply. Other features include 2 percent gain error, 1mV offset voltage, 3 LSB linearity, and a flexible serial interface with four different modes.
