Oki Electric Ind. Co. Ltd and Thine Electronics Inc. have agreed to jointly develop a high-speed interface video memory which uses LVDS (low-voltage differential signaling) to interface between the controller and the memory.

The partners will combine Oki's application-specific FIFO memory technology with Thine's advanced serial transmission technology to develop the video memory for use in TV receiver TFT-LCDs. The interface of the new memory will feature four pairs of data lines to enable data speeds up to 4.8Gbps.

Shipping samples are scheduled for Q3 of 2003.
