Allegro Micro sells Pennsylvania facility

Allegro MicroSystems Inc., a manufacturer of advanced mixed-signal power semiconductors and Hall-effect sensors, has closed down and sold its 250,000 square-foot wafer fab in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. According to the report, the buyer will use the facility for purposes unrelated to the semiconductor industry.
Allegro's production at its Willow Grove wafer fab has been transferred to the company's wafer fab in Worcester, Massachussetts. Key technical personnel in the closed down plant will be transfrerred to Allegro's newly opened Pennsylvania Design Center in Warminster, Pennsylvania.
