Winsystems Inc.'s newest EBC-BX single-board computer (SBC) is based on an Intel 700MHz Pentium III CPU for low-power and space-constrained industrial applications. The unit is designed for operation from -400C to 600C.

The EBC-BX melds the features needed for computation-intensive industrial applications onto a 146-by-203mm EBX-compliant platform. The unit comes with an Intel Pentium III with core logic functions, video controller with CRT and flat-panel support, 10/100 Ethernet controller, four serial channels, 48-bidirectional digital I/O line, and solid-state disk support, Winsystems said. The SBC also supports USB, PC/104, and PC/104-Plus expansion for additional peripherals.

The part also has 256KB of on-die L2 cache operating at the CPU's core frequency. The Intel 440BX system controller chip set provides the core logic to make the board PC/AT-compatible.

The 700MHz EBC-BX list price is $1,095. A 400MHz Celeron version lists for $895. Delivery is stock to three weeks.
