The KMR series of miniature tact switches from ITT Ind., Cannon measures 4.6-by-2.8-by-1.9mm - the industry's smallest top actuated SMT tact switch - and is suited for in-car navigation and entertainment systems.

The switches provide positive tactile feedback via 0.2mm to 0.3mm travel metal domes, with an actuation force that can be specified as 1, 2, 3, or 4N. They exhibit a contact resistance <100 milliohms and an insulation resistance >1 gigaohms. The switches have a lifespan of 200,000 operations and feature a ground terminal to protect against EMI.

The four-terminal devices are available with silver or gold contacts. The silver contact version is rated at 50Vdc, 50mA; while the gold contact version is rated at 50Vdc, 10mA.
