IXYS forms division focused on RF devices

IXYS Corp., a supplier of power semiconductors and ICs, has reorganized its wholly owned subsidiary, Directed Energy Inc., resulting in two divisions, thus creating a newly formed division called IXYS RF.

According to IXYS, the expanding portfolio of semiconductor products developed at DEI specifically for RF power applications necessitated the creation of the IXYS RF division. This new division will develop new generation of devices including RF MOSFETs, RF driver ICs, GaAs devices, RF modules, and ICs. Target markets include medical imaging, RF plasma generators, cable TV receivers, TV receiver broadcast, and professional radio service communications.

DEI will remain as a wholly owned subsidiary and a division of IXYS Corp., focused on the development, design, marketing and sales of innovative high-speed, pulsed-power instruments and systems for OEM, laboratory, and manufacturing applications.
