Tyco rolls pulse wire sensor portfolio

Tyco Electronics has announced the release of its line of pulse wire sensors that can sense rotor positions, serve as revolution counters, and detect speed and rotation in flow meters and motor commutation applications.

Operating at frequencies of up to 10kHz, the sensors are contactless and require no external power to function. They have a permanent magnet design that generates output voltages from 3.5Vdc to 4Vdc and require no voltage amplification for switching electronics.

The sensors also exhibit repeatability, allowing them to improve motor efficiency in brushless dc motor applications compared to typical sensors.
