SDK to build aluminum tube plant in Dalian

Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) will construct a manufacturing facility, to be named Showa Denko (Dalian) Co. Ltd, in the economic and technical development zone of Dalian, Liaoning in China this month.

Showa Denko (Dalian) will employ 200 workers and will produce 2.5 million aluminum tubes using its proprietary extrusion and drawing process. The tubes will be used to make color printers.

SDK currently manufactures aluminum tubes in Oyama and Hikone, Japan, and at its subsidiary in the U.S. The tubes are sold under the brand name "ED-Process" tubes.
