Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) Corp. has announced that its Xabre600 graphics chipset solution now offers VIVO functionality and is claimed to be the first graphics card to utilize the AGP 8X specification.

The card incorporates Conexant Systems Inc.'s Bt835 multimedia chipset for analog video decoding and support for NTSC/PAL/SECAM signal inputs. Besides supporting multiple interfaces such as CRT-out, Video-out (S-video), and DVI, the Xabre600's engine also supports Video-in (S-video) and Composite Video-in ports, as well as hardware acceleration.

Released November 2002, the Xabre600 chipset offers an engine clock speed of 300MHz and memory clock speed of 300MHz. These features are claimed by the company to provide the Xabre600 with a performance improvement of at least 20 percent in the 3D Mark 2001 test, compared to the company's previous Xabre400 product.
