Toshiba microcontroller has 32KB of NAND Flash

The TMP86FM48 8-bit microcontroller from Toshiba Corp. combines the company's TLCS-870/C CPU core with 32KB of NAND-type Flash memory - 512 bytes of which can be used as Flash data memory for storing such data as volume information when power is shutdown.

Specifically designed for portable audio application, the microcontroller operates from a supply of 1.8V to 3.6V and functions at 8MHz (1.8V to 3.6V) or 16MHz (2.7V to 3.6V). It also features 2KB of RAM, 10-bit ADC, 8- and 16-bit timers/counters, and UART, I?C, and serial interfaces.

Integrated Boot ROM for on-board programming is also included. This enables serial write to the Flash memory using UART, simplifying reprogramming of the Flash memory after the chip is mounted on a user board.

The device is manufactured using a 0.4?m process and is available in either a 64-pin LQFP (TMP86FM48U) or QFP (TMP86FM48F).
