Hitachi storage systems interoperable with Cisco products

Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd, has completed hardware interoperability qualification testing between its storage products and Cisco Systems' MDS 9509 multilayer director, MDS 9216 multilayer fabric switch, and associated modules.

Hitachi Data Systems has also signed a non-binding letter of intent to resell and support the Cisco MDS 9000 Family of multilayer directors and fabric switches as part of its portfolio of SAN switches. When the terms of the agreement between Cisco and Hitachi are finalized, Hitachi Data Systems will make the Cisco MDS 9000 available to its customers with full service and support.
