Tektronix Inc. and China's Research Institute of Telecommunications Transmission (RITT), a subsidiary of China's Ministry of Information Industry (MII), have renewed their agreement for the development of GPRS networks and elements. MII is responsible for drafting specifications and approving test equipment for the telecommunications industry in China.

Tektronix and RITT first partnered to develop a GPRS conformance test suite built on the K1297-G20 protocol tester in 2001. The companies have now agreed to continue the relationship with emphasis on technological service for the Gb interface.

"Tektronix' history in China and its ongoing efforts to enable successful mobile network deployments in our country have encouraged us to continue this mutually gratifying partnership," said Yang Zemin, President, China Academy of Telecommunication Research, MII. "With Tektronix' comprehensive support and repeatable results as a partner and a test equipment manufacturer, we are confident of our successful future."
