Beijing Watertek launches PDA customization business

Embedded system supplier Beijing Watertek Information Technology Co. Ltd has established a specialized software and hardware customization business, after successfully developing an intelligent multifunction PDA platform equipped with external interfaces such as a serial interface and a USB port which can connect with all kinds of peripherals like IC card readers, CF card readers, and bar code readers, for function enhancement.

Based on the intelligent platform, the Watertek spin-off aims at addressing the specific needs of various industry sectors. Users of the platform will be able to select corresponding hardware modules with respect to their own application requirements. Among the modules to be chosen from are: LCDs (black/white, color, size, and shape), GPRS (networking, calling, and short message function), GPS (electronic map, positioning information, and navigation function), and peripherals (IC card, CF card, ID identification, and bar code identification).

The Watertek business also offers embedded OS, complete bottom-level drive software packet, and common PDA application software. The company also has the capability of adding new application software modules based on the users' own specifications and provide SDK software developing platform to users for developing application software.

In addition, the spin-off also distributes ARM Ltd's entire line of developing tools and ATI's Nucleus real-time embedded OS.
