Elpida Memory Inc. has announced the availability of its 256MB DDR400 SDRAMs and unbuffered PC3200 DIMMs, which are compliant with Intel Corp.'s memory specifications for high-end PC desktop and workstation platforms.

Manufactured using the company's 0.13?m process technology, the DDR400 SDRAMs operate 400MHz and are claimed to offer a 20 percent performance improvement over the DDR333 memories. They operate from 2.6V sources and are organized in 32Mwords-by-8 bits-by-4 banks. The SDRAMs are packaged in TSOPs.

The DIMMs are available in 256MB or 512MB in either x64 or x72 configurations. Error Correction Code (ECC) or non-ECC versions are available depending on the system need for assurance of high-reliability.
