Rochester to distribute discontinued Infineon devices

Rochester Electronics Inc., a source for discontinued semiconductors, has been added to the authorized distributor list of Infineon Technologies AG. Under the agreement, Rochester will purchase, stock, and resell Infineon's inventory of discontinued products, including wafers, die, and finished devices. The agreement also allows Rochester to manufacture discontinued Infineon products under license.

"Every product and technology has a life cycle," said Josef Calcagno, VP worldwide distribution at Infineon Technologies. "However, the end-of-life schedule for the manufacturer may not reflect the ultimate schedule of the customer. Partnering with Rochester enhances our end-of-life strategy and allows us to better serve our customers," he added.
