NTT-AT color LCD boasts 2,048-by-2,048 resolution

The SI-DL4M color LCD from NTT Advanced Technology (NTT-AT) Corp. features a resolution of 2,048-by-2,048 pixels on a 28.05-inch screen, making it suitable for use in air traffic control systems, medical systems, and CAD systems that require high-resolution display.

Based on a liquid crystal panel developed by Sharp Corp., the LCD boasts of 103 pixels per inch, horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 170°, >210cd/m? brightness, and low occurrence of pixel defects.

In addition, it has an analog input port compatible with existing 28-inch CRT displays, allowing it to replace CRT displays of an existing system without changing the interface. The status of the display can be monitored or a test pattern can be displayed by remote control or by operating an attached switch.

The LCD operates from a 100Vac to 240Vac power supply and consumes 120W. It has a display contrast of 350:1 and has a lifespan >50,000h. It measures 606-by-606-by-170mm and weighs 30kg. The SI-DL4M comes in chassis, panel, and desktop types.
