The AD5273 64-step digital trimmer IC from Analog Devices Inc. offers a one-time programmable, digitally controlled variable resistor and replaces mechanical trimmers in "set and forget" factory adjustments.

Available in a 2.9-by-3mm, 8-lead SOT-23 package, the IC performs the same electronic adjustment functions as variable resistors or potentiometers but in a smaller and more reliable package. It is available with end-to-end terminal resistance values of 1, 10, 50, or 100K, programmable via 2-wire I?C interface.

The device operates from a 2.7V to 5.5V supply and dissipates 55A. It is screened for operation over the -400C to 1050C temperature range.

Analog Devices is an exhibitor at the International IC-China (IIC-China) Design & Exhibition show running from March 3 to 11 at Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen. It is co-located with the Embedded Systems Conference - China and are both organized by eMedia Asia Ltd, a Global Sources and CMP Media joint venture.
