RF inductor line rolls out with shielding

Keywords:Gowanda electronics? surface mount inductor? smrf 1812 series? smrf 1812s series?

Offering the same design as the company's SMRF 1812 devices, Gowanda Electronics' series of surface-mount inductors, the SMRF 1812S, has shielding to minimize coupling between board components in such RF applications as communications, test and measurement, medical-diagnostic, and industrial process control equipment.

Designed for RF applications where devices have to withstand harsh soldering processes and need shielding because of the close proximity of electronic components on the board, the SMRF 1812S devices are built with the same proprietary manufacturing processes as the SMRF 1812 series.

Because the manufacturing processes are identical, the company expects that the new devices will also meet reliability testing that has validated the performance of the SMRF 1812 inductors. Current ratings go from 1.96mA to 85mA. Typical volume pricing for the SMRF 1812S is <50 cents per unit.
