Intercept Technology Inc. is showing a new entry-level configuration of its Pantheon Express PCB design tool.

Craig Yano, VP of marketing at Intercept, said Pantheon Express is targeted at customers who do not yet have the budgets to buy a full-fledged version of Pantheon Express but still require an advanced PCB design tool.

Like Pantheon, Pantheon Express is a schematic capture to layout design tool but it does not include some of the high-speed design functions of the more expensive Pantheon tool. Pantheon Express is $15,000 to Pantheon's $35,000.

Pantheon Express, said Yano, does not include differential pair routing. The tool can only design PCBs, where Pantheon can also design hybrid MCMs. The tool also does not include support for design reuse, variance design or have the advanced area design features, which are included in the full version of Pantheon.

All licenses are floating by default and run native on WinNT/2000/XP, HP-UNIX, Sun SOLARIS, and LINUX platforms.
