Teledyne Technologies Inc. has received a $4 million contract from Harris Corp., a provider of network solutions, for the development and initial production of a family of fiber-optic transmitters and receivers which will be used for the avionics subsystems of a Joint Strike Fighter aircraft.
Teledyne continues to supply Harris with other fiber-optic devices for the F-22 Raptor program, which is currently in production. The initial contract is for development and production of quantities sufficient to supply early models of the Joint Strike Fighter, as well as avionics assemblies for subsystem development and system integration laboratories for the aircraft.
"Teledyne has been involved in the development and production of fiber optic devices used in aerospace/defense vehicles for over 10 years," said Robert Mehrabian, chairman, president, and CEO of Teledyne. "We are proud to work with Harris, another company with a rich tradition in the aerospace sector, to develop and produce parts for the Joint Strike Fighter." |
