Software configuration management solutions provider ManageSoft Corp. has announced its plans of expanding into Asia. According to ManageSoft CEO, Walter Elliot, the Asian countries ManageSoft are intending to branch out into include Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Thailand.

"The software management market in Asia is in its infancy but with many large businesses scaling back their IT expenditure and looking to do things smarter with their existing IT resource base, we expect escalating demand for solutions that can improve user productivity and demonstrate a lowering of direct and indirect software ownership costs," said Elliot.

As an initial step for this expansion, ManageSoft has already signed Malaysia's SCS Computer Systems to work with them to help the company secure new deals in Malaysia. Discussions with several other resellers across Asia are reportedly also underway.

The focus on Asia builds on ManageSoft's worldwide expansion in 2002, which includes developing a presence in Scandinavian and Southern European countries and the opening of corporate offices in Latin America, specifically in Brazil. In Australia, the company also signed reseller agreements with a couple of local integration companies.
