RedClover Networks Inc. and Oki Electric Ind. Co. Ltd have begun to utilize their joint technology and business resources at 10Gbps, in addition to their existing collaboration on the development of 40Gbps optical interface components and subsystems.

John Ralston, RedClover's VP of Marketing and Business Development, said, "Both large corporations and telecom carriers are already working on the deployment of a broad array of new services based on 10Gbps Ethernet, SONET, and WDM. Interfaces between terabit routers in IP aggregation clusters in major metro data centers, as well as IP peering points between different carriers, are migrating to 40Gbps in order to maintain a beachhead above the constantly rising data tide. By sharing our technology and business resources, RedClover and Oki will greatly strengthen our respective abilities to develop and market a powerful new class of adaptive and intelligent optical interface products for such networks."

"RedClover's unparalleled technical expertise at 40Gbps has helped Oki accelerate the development and commercialization of our 40Gbps optical components product line," stated Takashi Tsubota, GM, Strategic Planning Office of Optical Components Co. at Oki Electric.
