Hitachi Metals Ltd has developed the Absorshield K-E series of noise suppression sheets that are free of halogens and flame-retardant, but retain the noise control properties of the company's previous Absorshield products. They are designed to reduce radiated noise interference in flat cables, ICs, between PCBs, and LCD components.

The sheets are composed of a powdered form of Hitachi Metals' proprietary, high permeability Finemet nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloy mixed with Sony EMCS' halogen-free resin to maintain flame retardant properties. They are available in 210-by-297mm sizes with 0.25mm or 0.5mm thickness and are certified according to UL 94V-0.
