feinfocus x-ray displays 2D, 3D imagery

feinfocus has released the ?CT-F.O.X. x-ray inspection system, which is claimed to be the first industrial x-ray system to include functional 2D and 3D modalities in one system.

The machine combines high-resolution 2D x-ray technology with 3D computed tomography techniques with high-end volume rendering software for the 3D detailed inspection and analysis of electronic devices such as sensors, MEMS/MOEMS devices, and complex electromechanical components.

It is capable of generating 3D imagery of cracks, voids, delamination, and other anomalies in devices to improve quality control and inspection.

The ?CT-F.O.X. features a new focus x-ray tube that provides microfocus, nanofocus, and high-power modes from one sources. The tube offers a detail recognition of 300nm and geometric magnifications up to 2,400x.

The machine also features the company's True X-ray Intensity (TXI) Control feature that constantly controls the output level of x-ray intensity during the image acquisition process. The company claims that this guarantees stable and permanent image quality every scanning cycle.

Other features include a 6-axes CNC programmable manipulator and focal spot position stability functions.
