Fischer Elektronik has developed a line of PCB heatsinks that feature special screw fastenings to allow it to be used in environments where the PCB maybe exposed to strong vibrations and shocks.

Instead of using a solder pin, the heatsinks use firmly pressed solid brass bolt with an M3 thread on one end. Fastening is then achieved using a counter nut on the reverse side of the boards. The new fastening scheme eliminates the risk of losing mechanical support due to broken soldering joints.
