Micronas GmbH has licensed Sonic Network Inc.'s Embedded Audio Synthesis (EAS) technology to be used on its MAS family of DSPs. The added EAS technology is expected to give Micronas customers additional audio features and polyphonic MIDI melodies on their mobile devices.

The EAS system is comprised of a digital audio player, General MIDI synthesizer, Audio Mixer, GM Wavetable soundsets, and multi-media extensions for the integration of audio and graphics. The solution also provides support for popular ring tone standards such as SP-MIDI, SMAF, GMLite, and Downloadable Samples.
