The NJU6050 white LED driver from New Japan Radio Co. Ltd packs an output driver and step-up dc/dc converter in a SOT23-5 package, making it suitable for use in cellphones, PDAs, and automobile navigation displays.

The device operates from a 3.6V input and delivers 20mA output, enough to drive up to eight white LEDs. The step-up dc/dc converter exhibits 82 percent efficiency to conserve battery.
