NEC releases 84-inch plasma display

The PlasmaSync 84VP4 84-inch plasma display solution combines four matrixed PlasmaSync 42VP4 plasma displays to provide a screen area of almost 3,000 square-inches - 88 percent more than a 61-inch plasma display.

The plasma display offers a native resolution of 1,706-by-960 pixels and is claimed to provide images that are stable and flicker-free. It is also integrated with features that reduce distortion while smoothing jagged lines and correcting color bleeds.

Other built-in features include Advanced AccuBlend scaling technology, motion-compensated 3D scan conversion, 3/2 pulldown, Capsulated Color Filter technology for realistic color, and AccuCrimson technology for pure reds.

The display comes with a quad wall mount and offers an anti-glare screen for high-ambient lighting conditions or an anti-reflective screen for normal conditions. It also has a standard input panel along with a complete set of RS-232 commands for remote operation and diagnostics.

Each of the 42-inch displays feature a built-in 8-by-8W stereo audio, as well as a built-in programmable timer. They also have a fanless design and reserved space for a small form PC and cable management system.
