C&D power supplies offer IPMI module

C&D Technologies (NCL) Ltd has made available a family of CompactPCI power supplies that feature an optional I?C Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) module that allows designers to easily implement remote power supply monitoring and management functionality.

The optional IPMI module is factory-fitted and allows remote monitoring of key status functions via the system management bus. It is able to monitor such functions as the voltage and current levels of all four CompactPCI outputs and the status of the 'fault' and 'inhibit' signals.

Suitable for CompactPCI systems such as rack-mount Internet servers and high-end industrial systems, the IPMI modules conform to Intel Corp's IPMI software protocol specification v1.5. Remote upgrades can be done via an I?C interface without the removal of the power supply from the system.
