RF Micro Devices Inc., a provider of RF ICs for wireless communications applications, has opened a new design center in Colorado, U.S.A.
The design center is staffed with a team of engineers with design expertise in wireless system architectures. The Boulder office will focus on designing low-cost, optimized integrated solutions that support the convergence of multiple standards, such as cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth, and GPS.
The Boulder design center is part of RFMD's R&D organization and provides RFMD with a combination of DSP and RF/analog skills to generate new approaches to multi-standard radio and baseband SoC integration.
"We believe future multi-function wireless devices will require multi-standard radio solutions that integrate cellular, WLAN, Bluetooth, and GPS," said Bill Pratt, CTO and founder of RF Micro Devices. "The Boulder design center team should help us leverage and accelerate the trend toward these next-generation devices, through their expertise in DSP direct mixed signal calibration and large mixed signal SoC integration optimized for multi-standard radios." |
